Prof. Dr. Kıvılcım Metin Özcan received her bachelor’s degree in 1979 from the School of Public Administration, affiliated with T.O.D.A.İ.E. She began her academic career in 1981 as a research assistant in the Department of Economics at Gazi University. She earned her M.A. in Economics from Middle East Technical University in 1984 and completed her D.Phil. in Economics at the University of Oxford in 1992.In the same year, she joined the Department of Economics at Bilkent University as an assistant professor and was promoted to associate professor in 1995. After twenty years at Bilkent, she was appointed professor at Necmettin Erbakan University in 2012, where she served as Chair of the Department of Economic Theory until September 2017.From 2017 to 2025, Prof. Özcan continued her academic career at the Faculty of Political Science, Social Sciences University of Ankara. She has recently joined Ostim Technical University.Prof. Özcan has published extensively in internationally refereed journals and contributed chapters to academic books. She also serves on the editorial boards of several scholarly journals and is an active member of various economic associations.
